College & Career Readiness
College
Apply Idaho allows Idaho students to submit applications to any or all of Idaho’s ten colleges and universities at one time without paying any application fees.
Choosing the right school can feel overwhelming, but focusing on what matters most to you will make the process easier. Here are five key factors to consider:
1️⃣ Net Cost 💰
Understand the true cost of college by calculating the total expenses minus grants, scholarships, and gift aid. Rank your college options from least to greatest net cost and remember—loans are not included in this number.
2️⃣ Location 📍
Your surroundings matter! Consider factors like distance from home, job opportunities, transportation, and activities. Some students prefer to stay close to family, while others want a new adventure.
3️⃣ Major 🎓
If you know your major, choose a school with strong programs and internships in that field. If you're undecided, look for colleges that offer multiple majors you’re interested in.
4️⃣ Size 🏫
- Large colleges (15,000+ students) offer more resources, research opportunities, and diverse majors, but often have bigger class sizes.
- Small colleges provide smaller classes, closer faculty connections, and personalized learning experiences.
5️⃣ Campus Life 🎭
Get involved! Research student clubs, sports, Greek life, and multicultural organizations. Engaged students tend to have better grades and graduate on time.
💡 Tip: Explore college websites, take virtual tours, and connect with current students or alumni to find the best fit for YOU! 🚀
