Helpful Programs

We use a few programs at Emmett High School to help us get our students on their own path and be successful both during and beyond high school.  The Idaho State Department of Education has created Advanced Opportunities to allow students to individualize their high school learning plan to get a jump start on their future.  These options include dual credit, workforce training, certification exams, Advanced Placement, and International Baccalaureate programs.  The Advanced Opportunities program can provide funding for students who want to take advanced courses while attending an Idaho Public School in grades 7-12.

GEAR UP is a Federal Program under the U.S. Department of Education that was created "designed to increase the number of low-income students who are prepared to enter and succeed in postsecondary education." -U.S. Dept. of Ed. Emmett High School has a grant from GEAR UP Idaho which "strives to help students meet standards necessary for high school graduation and provide them with the skills to succeed beyond high school."

College and Career Readiness was created to support one of the State Department of Education’s strategic goals, as established by the Superintendent of Public Instruction. "All Idaho students persevere in life and are ready for college and careers." Whether you are a student, a family member, or an Idaho educator, we hope you find resources and links that can inform, support, or enhance efforts toward student success and goal-setting for the future. We know goals can be as unique as the individual students we serve, and toward that effort, we strive to keep abreast of current opportunities, resources, exploration, and pathways of success.
